The 2013 Dubai World Cup Carnival continues to take on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with a set of epic meetings between some of the best equine pure breeds in the sport of horse racing. This spectacle that only happens once a year, kicked off 2013 on the right track last January 10 and horse racing fans can expect an exciting series of horse racing battles from here to the final event of the three - month long festival, the USD 10 million Dubai World Cup, dubbed as ''the world's richest race,'' on March 30.

Oh how the mighty have fallen. For a football club like Newcastle United, one of those few teams that define the top flight in English football, to fall to the bottom of the table this 2012 - 13 English Premier League season is a sorry sight, to say the least. After finishing their last campaign for the Premiership in 5th place, the Magpies have fallen to as low as 15th this year and the only thing they can go for at this point is at least end what has been a disappointing season on a high note with their heads held high.

Struggling away from home, I don't know if they're getting homesick a little too often or having episodes of separation anxiety away from their own pitch but that's how you can describe Atletico Madrid at this point of the 2012 - 13 Spanish La Liga season. With the way they have been struggling on the road lately, their window of opportunity to catch up to the current table leaders of the league, that being FC Barcelona, is slowly closing down on them as we reach the critical stage of the current campaign.

The 2012 - 13 Italian Serie A season continues and, as of this writing, the defending Italian football champions, Juventus FC, continue to lord over the league standings, looking to be crowned as title holders at the end of their campaign for the second straight year and solidify their status as the winningnest side in the top flight of Italian football. As for the rest of the field, the top two contenders for the No. 1 spot in the Italian Serie A are not that far behind the league leaders and on February 10, they are set for a huge face - off in what would be a rematch of their first meeting of the season as Napoli pay the Stadio Olimpico a visit to take on Lazio.
